She is currently an independent USDA Organic Auditor along with being a principle at Fresh Coast Food Solutions. Ashley Specializes in food company marketing, procurement, and R&D. She has built an extensive background in food safety while working as a Director of Food Safety and Quality.. She has a Culinary Degree, and while not working can be found practicing her kitchen skills.

Co-Founder- Mark Baker
An award winning food safety and public health scientist with over 15 years of technical expertise and practical management of food safety issues across the global farm-to-fork food supply chain. In his current role as the Director of Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance, he leads a team of professionals dedicated to creating world-class food safety systems. This role allows him to teach, mentor, and develop food safety leaders. He has a proven record of data-driven policy and program development for food safety and public health initiatives. He has an extensive track record of public service, US military for ten years, and an elected official that served as Chair of the East Bay Township Parks Commission for five years. Founder of a successful food start-up, Grand Traverse Sauce Company, which is a small-batch hot sauce company that sold in 2020. He is the Co-Founder of the Robert Neihardt Award; the organization’s goal is to get more kids interested in careers in food and science. His research interests include food system epidemiology, food safety, foodborne and waterborne diseases, food policy, and the human microbiome.

Food Safety and Quality Assurance Consultant- Lacey Johnston
Lacey Johnston currently serves as a Food Safety Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. She is highly specialized in food safety and defense, providing technical expertise, guidance, and program management to DOD commands and organizations with a focus on preventing food-borne illnesses and ensuring safe, high-quality food procurement. Lacey conducts sanitation audits and inspections of food-related facilities, and collaborates with various inspection authorities and health agencies on food safety and public health issues. She originally enlisted as a 68R, and has approximately 5 years of technical expertise focused on quality assurance, food safety, and food defense. In her new role as a Food Safety Consultant with Fresh Coast Food Solutions, she integrates food safety within organizations to support desired business results. She is also a Senior Lecturer in Animal Science at a land grant university with nearly 20 years of experience in animal welfare, husbandry, education, and research. Outside of her professional career she is committed to Gold Star Family and Veteran organizations, serving as the Gold Star Family Outreach Coordinator for the Mountain Man Memorial March. She is also the Event Manager for Thrill the World Knoxville, part of the Thrill the World dance for charities around the world held each October. She also owns and operates a small farm, raising and selling poultry and poultry products.
